India’s total installed capacity from renewable energy sources has officially crossed the 200 Gigawatt (GW) threshold, according to data released by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy today.
Solar photovoltaic installations contributed over 95 GW, followed by wind energy at 48 GW and large hydro projects. India remains on track to achieve its ambitious target of 500 GW non-fossil capacity by 2030.
